Be part of a public music release! Learn the piece, sing the parts, and see the science of sound. Join us for the second public workshop with Grace Leckey, singer, songwriter, and audio-engineer, and Bunnell’s Alaska Artist in Residence. 🎶 🎤
This is a unique chance to get hands-on experience in the world of professional audio. Participants will first be taught Leckey's revised choral composition—the new piece she has developed during her residency exploring the climate crisis. Then, you'll get an inside look and experience demonstrations of various choral recording techniques from a professional audio engineer.
The recording created during this workshop will be edited, mixed, and released for the public, so you'll be contributing your voice to a published piece of art!
Grace Leckey believes in "communal song as a form of healing, protest, and mobilization," and this workshop uses the power of recording arts to "amplify and extend the reach of our stories."
Whether you're a seasoned singer, curious about sound engineering, or just love to sing in a group, all voices are welcome!
