- **Event Description**: “Kenneth Arthur Bahem, 66, passed away in his sleep in the late hours of Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Ken was born on June 28, 1959, to Larry Bahem and Colleen Tolmie Bahem. A true Homedale native, he graduated from Homedale High School in 1977. From a young age, all he ever wanted was to be a cowboy, and he went on to spend many years after high school living and working in Jordan Valley, Oregon, embracing the western way of life he loved.
Ken was known for his larger-than-life personality, strong work ethic, and deep appreciation for honest, hands-on craftsmanship. He built a life rooted in hard work, livestock, and the values of the cowboy way. One of his proudest accomplishments was serving as Owyhee County Cattlemen’s President.
As the founder of Ken’s Custom Tent & Canvas, he earned a reputation for quality work and built lasting relationships throughout Owyhee County and beyond.
One of his greatest passions was adventuring with his kids in his 1954 Willy’s Wagon and his 1948 Willy’s Jeep. He loved hunting and fishing, and spent many seasons on pack trips with his string of mules, making memories in the backcountry he cherished.
He was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a proud grandfather. Among his greatest joys was being “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his four children, Kortney, Konner, Tara, and Cody; and his two brothers, Alan and Dave. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ken will be remembered for his toughness, his humor, his storytelling, and the lasting impact he had on his family, his friends, and his community. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.”

Please join us Saturday, April 25 at the Txoko Ono Basque Center in Homedale. Doors open at 1pm with formalities starting at 1:30pm. We hope you’ll bring stories to share, memories, and laughter as we honor and remember Ken with a party; just the way he would have wanted it. Lamb and tri-tip dinner to follow speeches.

Ken was seriously injured in a horse wreck a few years ago, and the Western States Ranch Rodeo Association helped pay off many of his medical bills through their Cowboy Crisis Fund.
The family asks if you feel inclined to do something in Ken’s name, in lieu of flowers please donate back to the Cowboy Crisis Fund using the link below, and select the Crisis Fund Donation button at the top of the webpage.
