August is berry season, when hedgerows are heavy with blackberries and gardens are bursting with strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and blueberries. What better time to learn the timeless craft of willow basket making?

Join expert willow weaver Heather McDermott for our first ever Willow Berry Basket Workshop at The Walled Garden, Helen's Bay.

Perfect for complete beginners as well as those with some weaving experience who want to expand their skills, this one day workshop will teach you traditional basketry techniques that can be used in many future projects.

During the day you'll learn how to create:

? A slath base
? A 3-rod wale
? A 3-rod border
? A 4-rod handle

You'll leave with far more than a beautiful handcrafted berry basket. You'll gain traditional weaving skills, confidence in working with willow, and the satisfaction of creating something both beautiful and practical with your own hands.

Your workshop includes:

?️ A delicious homemade lunch in our Glasshouse
☕ Morning and afternoon refreshments with homemade treats
? All willow and materials provided
