At the crossroads of Blues, Folk and Americana lies Robinson Treacher. Whether it be in the studio or in live performance, Robinson’s emotionally dramatic songwriting style is matched only by his deeply passionate vocals. Steeped in what can only be labeled as a “traditional” songwriting format, Robinson has taken bers from all genres...rock, country, R&B, and folk, and woven them into a distinct tapestry, one that is clearly distinguishable among others in the singer/songwriter genre. Born and raised in New York, his honesty and grit re ect the eclectic musical in uences that have shaped everything from downstate New York City to the upstate Adirondacks. On the heels of his last release, “Porches”, Robinson has released “Born”, a purposefully “stripped down” collection of songs that rarely contains more than an acoustic guitar, an upright bass and of course those powerfully distinct vocals.
Robinson has been featured on Sirius/XM’s “The Loft: Live from The Living Room” series and has shared the stage with such notable artists as Vince Gill, Iris Dement, GE Smith, Joan Osborne, Cheryl Wheeler, Amy Helm and Carrie Rodriguez. He has even been touted by legendary songwriter Don Schlitz (“Forever and Ever Amen”, “When You Say Nothing At All”, “The Gambler”) as being, “...impossible to follow in concert.”
Recently, Robinson won the 2018 IMA (Independent Music Award) for BEST EP Roots/Country/Singer Songwriter/Americana for his album “BORN”. He has been nominated for a Nashville Music City Award for his song “This Bar” as well as for an NSAI/CMT country music People’s Choice Award and an Independent Music Award nomination for his song “Long Day Good Night”. He is a staple on the folk music touring scene, regularly featured at NERFA, the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Connecticut Folk Festival, New Jersey Folk Fest, Cape May Folk Fest, Key Largo Folk Fest and has been a two time recipient of the Audience’s Choice Award at Virginia’s famed Lyrics on the Lake Festival. Robinson has recently been spotlighted by the Rhode Island Songwriter’s Association (RISA) along with the Philadelphia Songwriter’s Project with award nominations as well and is currently supporting his upcoming release “Born” with shows in NYC, Nashville, and all points in between.
He has even combined his talents with fellow award winning singer/songwriters Brad Cole and Matt Nakoa forming Cole, Nakoa and Treacher. With what Elmore Magazine has called, “Drop-dead harmonies”, they have begun to tour, supporting each other’s music as well as forging a new path together. His music is available at www.robinsontreacher.com or at www.sojournrecords.com.
Some say it’s her range.
That it’s her ability to traverse multiple octaves across an uncannily wide vocal spectrum that makes her such an incredible performer. Perhaps this is the reason why the critics loved her in “Parallel Worlds”, why her fans across the country buy her records and industry insiders including, legendary Rolling Stone journalists or the President of USA Network all shower her with accolades. Why her celebrity peers call her, "A born star”.
Others say it’s her power.
And that’s what made her a natural to be the lead singer of the rock band Antigone Rising, why they toured with the Rolling Stones, and why their subsequent record sales broke sales records. Perhaps this is also the reason why Robert Plant and Janis Joplin are everyone’s “go-to” references when describing her ability to bring the house down with every song she sings.
And yet, those that have seen her perform up close will argue that her heart is her true instrument and that this is what makes her genuine. Which is why everything she sings resonates with emotion, making her early work as important as her current, why she is always in demand and why her fans know that she will never “sell out”.
But it is only those who have the distinct privilege to know her both on and off the stage that really know what she is truly about. It’s her soul that makes her special. It is also that which makes her truly iconic and why she will never just exist in the footnotes of music history, but in the annals of Rock and Roll fame. Perhaps this is the reason why her name appears with the likes of Demi Lovato, Steven Tyler, Gregg Allman, O.A.R., Steve Perry and Rob Thomas (just to name a few) as collaborator and compadre.
And whether she’s writing songs, starring in a feature film (more on this later), or leading an incendiary rock band in an unforgettable live concert, there is one thing that the entire world can agree upon,
Cassidy is all about The Music.
