Our annual Democratic City Caucus
will be held on
SATURDAY March 14, 2026
The caucus will open at 10:00 AM for check in.
The following are the number of allocated delegates and alternates for each Ward in the City:
Wards 1, 2, & 4, have 3 elected delegates which may be allocated by the following:
a) 2 female delegates and 1 male delegate OR
b) 2 male delegates and 1 female delegate OR
c) 1 female delegate, 1 male delegate and 1 non-binary delegate OR
d) 2 non-binary delegates and 1 female delegate OR
e) 2 non-binary delegates and 1 male delegate OR
f) 3 non-binary delegates
Wards 3, 5, & 6 have 4 delegates which may be allocated by the following:
a) 2 female delegates and 2 male delegate OR
b) 2 female delegates, 1 male delegate and 1 non-binary delegate OR
c) 2 male delegates, 1 female delegate and 1 non-binary delegate OR
d) 2 non-binary delegates and 1 female delegate and 1 male delegate OR
e) 3 non-binary delegates and 1 female delegate OR
f) 3 non-binary delegates and 1 male delegate OR
g) 4 non-binary delegates
Ward 7 has 5 elected delegates which may be allocated by the following:
a) 3 female delegates and 2 male delegate OR
b) 3 male delegates and 2 female delegates
c) 2 female delegates, 2 male delegates and 1 non-binary delegate OR
d) 3 non-binary delegates and 1 female delegate and 1 male OR
e) 4 non-binary delegates and 1 female delegate OR
f) 4 non-binary delegates and 1 male delegate OR
g) 5 non-binary delegates
The delegate allocation does NOT include Ward Chairs. Ward Chairs do not have to run as a delegate since they are Ex-officio delegates. Each ward has an allocation of alternates.
Wards 1, 2, & 4: 3 Alternates
Wards 3, 5, 6, & 7: 4 Alternates
In addition to the above allocated delegate numbers, the following categories are available for add-on delegate slots:
Youth
Minority - Black, Hispanic, Asian American, Native American, Cape Verdean
Disabled
LGBTQ+
All registered Democrats in Holyoke are welcome to run as delegate.
