There is a port-a-john available on site. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are highly recommended. Bring water and a snack. Binoculars and a notebook or sketchpad for recording observations are optional. This hike is recommended for ages 12 and up (anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult).About the Hike Leader: Sophia Gilbert is a Pheasants Forever Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist working out of York and Lancaster counties. She graduated from McDaniel College in Maryland with a degree in biology and acted as a Grassland Plant Ecology intern at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Virginia before returning to Pennsylvania to work with Pheasants Forever. She developed a passion for pollinators during her undergraduate research at McDaniel while studying plant-pollinator interactions in the experimental meadow at McDaniel Environmental Center.Where to Meet: This hike will meet in the gravel parking area at the intersection of Street Road and Crystal Drive.Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event.
