Welcome to our 6 Weeks Hand-Building Course!

Discover the mindful rhythm of working with clay.

This hands-on course introduces the traditional techniques of coiling, pinching, and slab-building, allowing each participant to create unique, organic pieces entirely by hand. The focus is on the meditative, tactile side of ceramics; how clay responds to touch, and how its rhythm naturally invites calm and focus.

Under the guidance of Gökçe and Hayati, you’ll learn how to shape, join, and refine your forms while exploring texture and surface detail. With only four people in each class, there’s time for individual attention, quiet conversation, and space to find your own flow.

A wonderful way to build confidence with clay or simply spend a few peaceful hours making something meaningful.

​

​This six-week course offers a gentle introduction to the art of hand-building with clay — perfect for complete beginners or anyone wishing to reconnect with slow, mindful making.

​

You’ll explore traditional techniques such as pinch pots, coiling, slab building, and glazing, alongside an introduction to Eastern hand-building methods using clay knives and cutting wire. Each session invites you to slow down, experiment, and discover your own creative rhythm.

​

With only six participants per class, you’ll receive plenty of one-to-one guidance in a calm and inspiring studio environment. Over the course, you’ll typically create 6–8 pieces, from functional objects to decorative forms, finished with our studio’s beautiful selection of glazes.

​

Your fired work will be ready to collect around four weeks after the course ends. We kindly ask that pieces are collected within four weeks of receiving your email notification, as our studio space is limited. Uncollected pieces will be donated to charity.

Once you’ve completed the beginner course, you’re welcome to continue your journey with our intermediate hand-building course or join the studio as a member.

• Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on
