This outdoor enrichment program offers youth the opportunity to combine nature exploration and creative expression. We will explore the natural world through scientific observation and artmaking. Youth are encouraged to learn experientially and creatively. Each weekly session blends a mix of guided learning and free play.
A variety of art mediums are introduced, including oil pastels, watercolor painting and colored pencils for sketching. Youth will keep a nature journal and make artwork to take home each week. All art and learning materials will be provided.
Dress to be outdoors on the trail. Please wear clothes and shoes that are appropriate for the weather. Bring a water bottle and snack in a small backpack. Caregivers are always welcome to drop off or stay with their child, but no unregistered youth please.
We meet at different nature locations each week. Any changes will be discussed in advance.
