This is a tangible expression of God’s love as ministry partners share the Good News of Jesus Christ, God’sGreatest Gift.It began in the early ’90s with a request to fill shoeboxes with gifts for children in war-torn Bosnia. Franklin Graham asked RossRhoads, then pastor of Calvary Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, to help. Within weeks, the church had assembled 11,000gift-filled shoeboxes. Combined with additional shoeboxes from Canada, Samaritan’s Purse sent 28,000 shoebox gifts tochildren in Bosnia that Christmas.• Since 1993, more than 232 million children in over 170 countries and territories have received a shoebox gift.• Shoebox gifts are collected in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Finland, Australia, NewZealand, and South Korea.• A network of more than 19,000 year-round volunteers—over 11,000 in the U.S. and 8,000 worldwide—serve year-round.• Over 190,000 short-term volunteers serve at shoebox drop-off locations and processing centers.• In 2025, over 13 million shoebox gifts were collected worldwide, 10.5 million from the U.S. Last year, more than 102,000 churches collected shoebox gifts.• 2026 Goal: 14million shoebox gifts globally, with 12.1 million of these from the U.S.Come and learn more about this great outreach opportunity!!
