Join us on Saturday, December 20th for a free Winter Bird Hike at Everett Creek Preserve in Onslow County from 7 am - 9 am. Enjoy strolling and birdwatching for about 1.5 miles on this beautiful preserve. Binoculars are Bring Your Own and we will have one Sibley field guide on hand. You are welcome to bring your own as well! We may see red-shouldered hawks, warblers, great blue herons, cardinals, and more!
Once the hike adjourns at 9 am, the preserve becomes open for self-guided hiking as part of our monthly Open Hike Days until 3 pm. You are encouraged to explore the trail system of natural, unpaved trails of various lengths, observe longleaf restoration areas, and discover pollinator gardens.
Things to note:
Dogs are not allowed at this Preserve and make sure you bring snacks, water, and layers.
