Our Free Jams are playful practice sessions for anyone who’s completed the Impro Cairns Beginners course (or is currently enrolled). They’re a relaxed space to stretch your creative muscles, experiment with new ideas, and enjoy scenes with fellow improvisors. They’re not aimed at absolute beginners, but we do welcome friendly “outsiders” who’ve trained in improv elsewhere and want to jump in. If you’ve got the basics under your belt and you’re keen to dip further into the joy of spontaneous theatre, come join the fun ?✨

I’m checking numbers for our final Jam of 2025 on Sunday 14 December, 4pm–6pm (approx.)
Please PM me if you CAN attend. No need to message if you can’t; it keeps the thread tidy and makes planning easier.

Proposed location: Holloways Beach, near the main picnic/BBQ area (with change rooms and the swimming net). There’s great shade, loads of green space, and the ocean for an optional pre- or post-jam splash. On The Beach Café will be open if you’d like to grab something, or you can BYO food or use the electric BBQs.
