As the days lengthen and the season turns warmer, the sheep are gently sheared, shedding their winter coats much like we do. It’s a generous, time-honored gift and the perfect starting point for learning a new skill.

In this hands-on workshop led by Homestead Manager Ali Farquhar, you’ll explore both dry and wet felting techniques as you create your own one-of-a-kind woodland creature. You’ll also discover how native plants can be used to naturally dye wool, connecting your craft even more deeply to the landscape.
If the weather cooperates, we’ll take our crafting outdoors, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the season. The experience wraps up with a special meet-and-greet with our woolly residents—Bramble, Merribelle, and Skye - whose fleece made it all possible.

Come create, learn, and slow down with the sheep.
