Ihr Stil – laut Classic Rock Magazin ein „messerscharfer Brocken R’n’B“ – verbindet Blues mit dem rebellischen Geist des Punk.  Gegründet 1970 auf Canvey Island, wurde die Band mit dem No.1-Album „Stupidity“ und Hits wie Roxette, Back in the Night, Milk and Alcohol oder See You Later Alligator zur internationalen Live-Sensation.
Seit den 1980ern sorgen Kevin Morris, Phil Mitchell und Gordon Russell für Kontinuität, ergänzt seit 1999 von Sänger Robert Kane (ex-The Animals). Auch neue Alben wie Damn Right! (2022) und Live in Caen (2024) zeigen: Das Herz von Dr. Feelgood schlägt live – laut, roh und mitreißend wie eh und je.
