On Sunday, May 31st 2026, Historisch Schermgilde Limburg will host the second edition of our Fechtschule: Hoensbroek Castle Special after the success of the first one in August 2025.

We’ll be guests at one of the largest castles in the Netherlands, where we’re allowed to train and spar freely in one of their indoor halls, in the courtyard, and in the large meadow (4000 m2 / 1 acre) behind the castle.

A maximum of 𝟲𝟬 participant spots are initially available. Should there be significant interest, we will explore options with the venue to increase capacity where feasible.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗧𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗨𝗟𝗘?
The Fechtschule is a monthly open sparring and training event hosted by HSGL, where fencers from any club and of any level are welcome to spar, practice, exchange ideas, and socialise in an informal and inclusive environment.

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗨𝗣, 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡?
Because we are attending at the invitation of Kasteel Hoensbroek, our presence also acts as a demonstration and entertainment for the castle’s regular visitors.
We therefore ask that participants remain approachable to the public, answer their questions where possible, and participate in occasional demonstrations (sparring, training, etc.)
