Learn how to create a garden that comes alive at night with white flowers, silvery foliage, and night-blooming plants. Moon gardens can be designed for visual appeal or to attract nocturnal wildlife such as moths and bats. This talk covers which native plants work best for a moon garden, how to layer plants for continuous bloom, and tips for planning a garden that is both beautiful and wildlife friendly. Participants receive a handout with a Moon Garden Native Plant List to help plan their own nighttime landscape. Take part in our flexible online learning offerings. Join live to participate in our online learning community or watch after as your schedule allows. All registrants will receive a recording of the class with access to view the class for 30 days after the live session.

This program takes place online Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

About the Instructor:
Courtney Denning has been interested in nature and wildlife since childhood. She holds a degree in plant ecology from Ohio University and has worked as an environmental educator, social media manager, and library program manager. In 2020, while working at Piqua Public Library, she founded the Piqua Seed Library. Since 2022, she has worked for Deeply Rooted Landscapes, where she designs native plant gardens, leads consultations, and supports education and outreach. She is especially interested in how small residential spaces can support biodiversity through native plantings.
