The Descent of Inanna: A Soulful Storytelling Retreat for Seekers
The Descent of Inanna: A Soulful Storytelling Retreat for Seekers: Our retreat begins with a Friday evening storytelling experience, and continues with an all-day immersion on Saturday. (Location in Hobart, to be announced.) Come listen to the ancient Sumerian myth of Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth, as she makes a harrowing voyage to the Underworld. Make connections between your life and her great journey into the unknown, uncovering new meaning in your challenges and triumphs, and, perhaps, unearthing answers to your deepest questions. (You can also attend as a stand-alone event. Register here: If you cannot attend the Friday night storytelling, but wish to attend the Saturday event, we will email you a link to a recording of Virginia telling the story so that you can listen before we begin on Saturday morning.)
Saturday is a day of reflection, connection, and art-making for those seeking to explore the events and stories of their life in a unique, creative, and meaningful way. The story of "Inanna's Descent into the Underworld" presents a rich opportunity for personal insight and growth; her story may forever change you and how you see yourself and the world. This is a beautiful opportunity to prepare for, process, or heal from profound life-changing events such as childbirth, divorce, betrayal, illness, loss/grief, and other transformative journeys. If you are a health-care provider, healer, counselor, therapist or other professional who supports people in crisis, you will have new insight into how to help those who are struggling or suffering. Creative processes, skilled guidance, and sacred circle allow space for deep exploration and expression. Immerse yourself in myth, meaning, and mindful reflection. Leave feeling renewed, uplifted, and connected to your authentic self. No artistic skill or experience needed.
Friday evening storytelling is from 7-9 pm. Saturday retreat runs from 10 am to 5 pm, with a one-hour lunch break from 12:30-1:30 (lunch not provided). Please wear comfortable clothes. Tea and light snacks will be served.
