Take home your own oyster mushroom in a reusable bucket!
Tasmania’s favourite mycologist Tim Murch from West Tamar Fungi and Dean Smith from Tunnel Hill Mushrooms invite you to an in-depth Mushroom Growing Workshop at Tunnel Hill Mushrooms.
Date: Sunday, 7 December, 2pm – 4pm
What to expect:
• Learn all the skills you need to start growing your own delicious oyster mushrooms at home.
• Tour the historic 1891 tunnel with Dean, where he cultivates a variety of mushrooms and tour the laboratory.
• Hands-on lesson with Tim on how to make your own mushroom bucket and discover the ins and outs of growing and caring for them. Choose from 10L or 20L*.
• Take home your own oyster mushroom bucket, complete with notes and online support for successful growing.
• The famous train BBQ will be fired up so you can taste a variety of the mushrooms grown at Tunnel Hill.
• Browse West Tamar Fungi’s range of mushroom products, including jerky, pickles, and powders.
• Enjoy light afternoon tea and refreshments.
* A 10L bucket will yield up to 2kg, while a 20L bucket will yield up to 2.5kg, both producing numerous flushes.
