Okines Community House has recently secured funding from the Foundation for Regional and Rural Renewal to strengthen our ability to face disasters and the possible impacts of climate change. We know from research around the world, that connected communities that work together, prepare together and have fun together are able to respond and recover better in the face of crises.

We want to start by celebrating and acknowledging our strengths and everything that this community has already overcome through the power of storytelling. From the 2013 Bushfires, to Covid, to individual stories of everyday people overcoming hard times, let's share what we've learned and what makes our community so strong & special.

And so we would like to invite you to join us here at Okines for an interactive evening of storytelling and discussion, as we look at our stories from the past and how our experiences help us prepare for the future.

This event is open to all local residents of the Southern Beaches community and is FREE to attend. (Donations appreciated)

Your reservation will include dinner on the night. *Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when making your reservation.

PLEASE NOTE: this is a FREE community event with limited availability and a waitlist.

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your ticket (or contact us) so it can go to someone on the waitlist. Alternatively you can post in the Facebook event or Southern Beaches Facebook Group to share your ticket so someone else can attend in your place.
