Light It Up - A Musical Theatre Intensive Workshop.
The Hobart Voice Academy and Acting True are joining forces!
This is a call out to all aspiring actors, singers, dancers and musical theatre enthusiasts. Be part of a one day musical theatre intensive workshop where you will have the opportunity to work with two of our industry’s best.
Professional actor and acting coach, Lisa Gormley, will team up with international singer and vocal teacher, Jude Elliot, to show you what it takes to LIGHT UP your performance taking it to the next level.
Throughout the 1 x Day Intensive Workshop....
- Participants will work on an age appropriate allocated part from 1 x contemporary musical theatre piece.
- Explore Acting Theory with Lisa learning the fundamentals of script and character analysis.
- Work with Jude on mastering the vocal technique.
- Combine all skills and as a group and explore the dynamic performances.

Jude Elliot is an award winning songwriter and performer who has toured internationally and worked as a studio vocalist and writer for some of the world's top producers in Australia, LA and New York. With a career spanning across nearly two decades, she has performed over 1500 shows at major festivals and music venues in Australia and in the USA with the likes of Clare Bowditch, Mark Seymour, Evermore, Jon Stevens, The Posies (USA), Teddy Thompson (USA) and Kate Miller-Heidke.
Jude is the director of The Voice Academy, a boutique vocal studio at Salamanca Arts Centre, working as a vocal teacher, producer and mentor for Tasmania’s finest musical theatre and contemporary singers.

Lisa has enjoyed the performing arts from a young age starting in local musical theatre/ drama groups. A 2009 NIDA graduate she worked and continues to work in both the stage and screen arena. Lisa has been working with performers and non performers alike for over 10 years helping them to optimise their ability as story tellers. Currently head Casting Director at TAS CASTING, and proud creator of Acting True a passion project designed to bring professional training and experiences to Tasmania.
