Background: The Order of AHEPA, officially known as the American Hellenic Education Progressive Association, is a Greek-American fraternal organization founded in 1922 in Atlanta, Georgia, and its affiliated women’s Order, The Daughters of Penelope. Both organizations became the vehicles through which Greek Americans practiced their Hellenic ideals as a way of expressing gratitude to their ancient and immigrant forebears and to their new adopted homeland. It was established to counteract discrimination and promote Hellenic ideals like education, philanthropy, and civic responsibility. AHEPA has grown to over 400 chapters worldwide and is known for its community service and volunteerism.
Since 1981, Hospice of the Calumet Area has helped men, women, and children with life-limiting conditions, cherish life by providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support. Your gift helps us provide our services to anyone who needs them, regardless of their ability to pay.
