Join us for a captivating evening celebrating the life and legacy of Amy Sherwin, Tasmania’s own “Tasmanian Nightingale.” This special talk will delve into Sherwin’s remarkable career and her impact on the performing arts, both locally and abroad.

Rachel Edwards has unearthed a treasure trove of Sherwin-related material from the State Library & Archives collection — including birth records, newspaper clippings, postcards, and rare photographs of Tasmanian performers from Sherwin’s era. Select items will be on display during the event, offering a rare glimpse into the cultural history of Tasmania.
