- **Event Description**: Ancient DNA has triggered a revolution in the story of humankind in the last few years, and shows no signs of slowing down. The latest research changes our story week after week, and the genomes of the long-dead have revealed a wickedly complex picture of human evolution over the last 100,000 years and more. This has all coincided with a huge surge in interest in genetic genealogy, fuelled by consumer tests that millions have bought and whose results are not entirely in line with how scientists understand genes, ancestry and family trees. So how do we talk about the history of our species, our ancestors, our families and our DNA? 
Join Adam Rutherford (BBC Radio 4 Inside Science, author and geneticist) as he probes this subject with his panel of guests. 
This public event is part of the Human Evolution conference (30 October – 1 November), which will bringing together population and evolutionary geneticists, archaeologists, palaeontologists, primatologists and medical geneticists to discuss advances in the field of human evolution.

Free parking in the Conference Centre carpark (D)
An infrared hearing loop is available in the audiorium. If you would like to use it we recommend you bring a pair of headphones with you.
Our Conference Centre is accessible to wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. The car park is a few minutes’ walk from the Conference Centre. If it is easier for you or a member of your group to be dropped directly outside the Conference Centre you are very welcome to do so. Please speak to the staff member at the security gate and they will direct you. If you have any other questions or concerns about accessibility please do get in touch.
