This year's Christmas festivities will get underway on Friday 21 November 2025 when the Christmas lights in Hinckley will be switched on. The evening will start at 4pm with live stage entertainment run by Fosse 107 DJs, in Market Place followed by the lights being switched on at 6.30pm. The party will continue on stage afterwards, with live music up until 8pm. Local musicians and bands will be on stage performing songs to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
There will also be a range of market stalls along Castle Street and The Borough selling crafts and festive treats and tipples. A selection of charity stalls will offer fun tombola's and prizes to take home.
Lots of Hinckley’s shops and the Britannia Centre will be open for late night shopping. Light-up products will be on sale from street traders, although visitors are advised to only buy from official street vendors who can easily be identified by their green or purple HBBC hi-vis vests. They will be in the event area on Castle Street, Regent Street and Market Place and not on any event perimeters.
The traditional Tin Hat Fair will take place on Regent Street, George Street and the Borough from 4pm until 10pm on the Friday. The fair will continue on Saturday 22 November from 12pm to 10pm. Rides are chargeable, these are set by the fairground company.
'Lights in the Mead' will return to Argents Mead will be adorned with twinkling fairy lights turning on in zones from 5pm on the night of the switch on, with all lights on from 6.30pm until late. 'Lights in the Mead' will then be on every evening thereafter (Sat 22 November) until Monday 5 January 2026.
