Hillsborough police and Orange Rural firefighters are inviting families to a winter wonderland Dec. 18.
With help from Santa, police officers and firefighters will distribute toys from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Dorothy N. Johnson Community Center, 501 Rainey Ave. The community center will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with a light display to enjoy through Jan. 1.
On Dec.18, Santa will wave to children in their vehicles as they enter the drive-thru event. Families will view the light display and stop in front of Santa’s toy shop, where children may choose a gift while remaining in the vehicle.
Event Safety
To keep the event safe for everyone, the following safety measures will be used:
** No walk-up participation will be allowed.
** Everyone inside a vehicle must remain in the vehicle.
** Once gift requests have been given, the driver will move the vehicle forward to Santa’s loading station and open the trunk, where an elf will deposit the requested gifts.
