We will start this journey at the beginning, choosing herbal allies that grow well in our bioregion to work with and planting them from seed. In this first class of the series in 2026, you will learn about the traditional uses of some of the medicinal herbs that grow well in New Hampshire. We will discuss how to grow them, how to identify microclimates within your yard to help them thrive once they are planted, and other tips for successful gardening. We will plant seeds from some of these herbs to take home and nurture and eventually plant out in our respective gardens in the spring. As we move through the growing season, each class in this series will take you through a different aspect of herbalism. Throughout the series, you will learn how to safely identify medicinal plants growing in our area, the ethics and practice of wild harvesting, basic Plant Spirit Communication, when to harvest what parts of the plant, how to make a variety of herbal remedies and learn how to use them, and much more. The Seed To Salve herbal class series is taught by local Herbalist, Jen Knight, who brings over 28 years of experience to these in-depth classes.
