The local AVA walking clubs have a tradition of holding a walk on Black Friday to go along with REI's #OptOutside campaign--OPT-OUT activities were started by REI to get people outside doing physical activities instead of shopping Black Friday sales. This event is a group walk offering distances of 5 km (3.1 mile) or 10 km (6.2 miles). Let's get outside and walk off some of that feasting. There are two 5k loops. The first is within the park with optional routing in case of high water. The second goes out into the SE neighborhood near the edge of rural Washington County.

There is a required Participation Fee of $4. These walks are rated 1B, easy. We walk about 3 miles per hour.

Register from 9:30 am to 10 am at Rood Bridge Park, 4000 SE Rood Bridge Rd. Please arrive early to register so the walk can start at 10 am.
