Join us for day 1 of our 2-day beginner beekeeping class in a relaxed, in-person classroom setting. We’ll cover bee basics, how to set up and care for your hive, tips on purchasing bees, and what to expect during your first year.
Taught by experienced local beekeepers from the Jefferson County area, this class offers valuable regional insight on weather patterns, pollen and nectar sources, and seasonal timing.
The cost is $60 per person or $110 for couples, which includes a course book, 1-year membership to the Jefferson County Beekeepers Association, and access to a private page where you can connect with classmates, chat with dedicated keepers and watch recorded meetings you might have missed.
Day 2 will be scheduled later in the spring and held in the club bee yard, giving you hands-on experience with the hives.
To register, contact Jefferson County UMC Outreach and Extension at 636-797-5391.
