HFAC is honoring 25 years of community support by giving back during our free, community event dedicated to life-saving water safety practices for all ages. HFAC’s Water Safety Awareness Day is open to the public to promote water safety in our community.
Oregon's drowning rates are consistently higher than the national average, and drowning remains the leading cause of accidental death among young children. The risk isn’t just for kids — many adults also lack basic swimming skills and knowledge of risks.
Our certified swim instructors will lead hands-on demos and share essential tips to help prevent drownings and promote safer habits around water. We’ll also be joined by the U.S. Coast Guard and other local safety responders, offering unique, eye-opening activities including life jacket fittings and a cold water immersion demo.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult and have a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Registration recommended.
