- **Event Description**: On Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 pm, Kathryn Dohrmann, emerita Psychology and Environmental Studies professor at Lake Forest College, will join us to read from two new chapbooks in her Stark Ravine Mad Series. The first, Archaeomythology, was released November, 2025, and features poems about place. The second, Mskoze / Red She Is (due to be published on April 1st), tells the story--in poems and notes--about her search for an Indigenous name for a native plant called the Cardinal Flower.

Kathryn's poems have been published in CALYX: A Journal of Art and Literature for Women, The Chicago Tribune, The A-3 Review, The Ekphrastic Review, The Last Stanza Poetry Journal, OPEN: Journal of Arts and Letters, and others. A finalist in the Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic and WBEZ poet laureate competitions, she was also a participant in the Poetic Dialogue Project; her poems from that project—The Pandora Memos—have been anthologized in Collaborative Vision and All About Eve. 

Kathryn will be joined in conversation by local writer, poet, professor, and her longtime friend Lois Baer Barr. We hope you'll join us, too!
