The contest is free to enter and free to watch.

Amateur chefs are invited to the Highland Park Farmers Market to compete by bringing the best gazpacho in Highland Park, NJ. The winning recipe will be shared with the public. Gazpacho without recipes will not be accepted, for purposes relating to our judges’ safety.

Entries must not have any meat components or meat-based broths, this is for safety purposes. Entries are not required to have tomato as an ingredient, but the end of July is when some nice heirlooms start making an appearance. Please bring chilled gazpacho sufficiently covered and in a 32 oz closable pitcher (or larger; 32 oz is also the standard deli cup size). Pitchers conducive to pouring are a plus. Entries must be in by 3:00 PM at the market pavilion and at a safe chilled temperature. We will store it in a cold environment for the remainder of the event.

If using a reusable container, use a sticker (or masking tape) listing your name and phone number ON THE BOTTOM of the dish. All pitchers will be available for pick-up right after the contest.

Judges will be announced as we get closer to July 29th. Anticipate 3 judges for 2 rounds.

Round one will be a heat to narrow down finalists. Finalists will have their own following round to compare side-by-side for placement.

The prize will be a Farmers Market Tote filled with an item from each vendor.
