- **Event Description**: We are starting to restore  a new stretch of the  Wye - felling & installing tree sweepers to  improve the health of this rare chalk stream!About this EventLead Ranger: Tony Speight  Mobile: 07931 575 367Transport & Address: We will be working in the River Wye at Edgewood, a 5mins minibus shuttle from our depot. We will meet at the Chiltern Rangers depot at 9:45am to get our waders and gauntlets on! If you don't want to get into the river, their is plenty of work to do on dry land! We will then get into our MPV and go to Edgewood together or you could follow us in your own car.The depot address is Kingsmead Depot, 60 Fennels Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1SL. Unfortunately there isn't any free parking on Fennels Road, there is a pay and display car park right next door.You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!The Task:We will be felling and pollarding and using the materials to install tree sweepers into the river. You will see light levels, habitat and movement return to the river throughout the day!What to Bring:Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task - long trousers are advisable as there is thorny vegetation. We also advise to bring spare clothes as we are working in the river.We will supply waders and a buoyancy aid if necessary. Or feel free to bring your own waders and buoyancy aid if you have them.We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.Toilet facilities are a short walk away at the Rye.Volunteering and COVID-19:Please do not attend sessions if you have tested positive for COVID or if you have COVID symptoms e.g. a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a loss of, or change in your normal sense of taste or smell.Please do not hesitate to contact us if you want to discuss anything further.
