The spirit of Ian Dury returns to Wycombe Arts Centre as Dury Service bring their high-energy celebration of wit rhythm and rebellion back to the stage.

This isn’t just a tribute — it’s a full-on celebration of one of Britain’s most original musical voices. Expect classics like “Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick” “Reasons to Be Cheerful” “What a Waste” and “Sweet Gene Vincent” performed by a powerhouse lineup of top-class musicians.

At the heart of the band is bassist and creative force Sparkie Dalton whose rock-solid groove and leadership keep the show rolling. Guitarist Bill Burke brings decades of soul rock and blues experience having worked with Jess Roden Geno Washington and Ben Portsmouth. On keys Carl Hudson adds lush funk and soul textures drawing from a career that includes collaborations with Leroy Hutson Jocelyn Brown and Emeli Sandé. With Paul Birch (Lightnin' Willie and three Poor boys) on drums and Caroline (Dr Caz on Sax) Priestley on sax and Mister Matt Moon on lead vocal wrapping his opera trained vocal chords around an incredible catalogue of songs from Ian Dury - the voice of a generation. This is a band that captures The Blockheads’ trademark energy and heart.

Opening the night is the brilliant Ez Dickens — an emerging artist blending singer-songwriter roots with alternative reggae vibes. Fresh from UK and European shows and soon to support Undercover Hippy her soulful voice and honest songwriting set the perfect tone for the night.
