- **Event Description**: Work with CSC staff and volunteers to design, construct, and build your 1 lb. combat robot! Over the course of 3 sessions, you will learn all of the basics to build your very own combat robot with skills such as construction, soldering, and more!

During the last class, you'll get to put your robot to the test!

The cost for registration includes all materials and supplies. Instructor fees have been donated directly to the Catawba Science Center. The program works for a wide range of ages. Youth under 14 should be accompanied by an adult, not recommended for children under 7

This year the course has been redesigned from a horizontal spinner to a vertical spinner. This shortened course will share a CAD model of the vertical spinner, and an overview of CAD resources for individual study but will not include class time on CAD.

2026 Class Dates:

April 26th 2.5 hours
May 3rd 2.5 hours
May 17th Competition: 1:30 pm until only one bot remains

The registration cost includes all necessary materials and supplies. 4 participants are allowed per robot, 1 adult required. An adult per child under 12 is recommended.

Pre-purchased tickets are required for this event. Ticket quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
