We will visit sites of imaginary and unreal historical events and stop in spots where what did not or could not have happened, happened.Just as history happens at the end of a sentence, in the newest eyes that see a city, this tour treats the city’s history with the lyric logic of the poem, and the expansive nonsense of the dream.The tour considers how history is crafted & for whom. Participants will be encouraged to find their own ways of rewriting & newly redreaming their city. Mathias Svalina is the author of nine books, most recently the short story collection Comedy, from Trident Books. Since 2014, he's run a dream delivery service, traveling around the country to write & deliver dreams to subscribers. With the Dream Delivery Service he's worked with the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, the Poetry Foundation, The MOCA Tucson, & the University of Arizona Poetry Center.
