- **Event Name**: Introduction to astrophotography
- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 20 Oct, 2026 at 07:00 pm – Tue, 20 Oct, 2026 at 09:00 pm (+01:00)
- **Event Description**: If you have ever wanted to capture the wonders of the night sky but don’t know where to start – this is the event for you.

Martin Kitching, Director of Northern Experience Wildlife Tours, is your speaker for this evening talk/workshop. Martin is an accomplished astrophotographer with many years of practical experience both as an astronomer and photographer.

During the event, which is aimed at beginners/improvers, Martin will take you through the basics of night-time photography and will share with you some hints and tips to improve your after-dark images.

The event is being held at Carrshield Village Hall which has access to a dark night sky. If the sky conditions are suitable, we will hopefully get outside and try and put Martin’s tips into practice. Note that the event will still take place if the sky is overcast.

The toilet facilities consist of a compost toilet (shared with people staying in the camping barn) above the village hall. Accessing the toilets involves a short (c50m) outside walk on uneven ground.
