- **Event Description**: IGF is delighted to present these Sunday afternoon concerts at Hexham Abbey, featuring talented musicians from our Young Artist PlatformAbout this EventIGF's Young Artist Platform (YAP) aims to help young musicians in the critical phase between the final stages of music education and the concert platform. The programme provides much needed performance opportunities and mentoring for young guitarists starting out in their careers, as well as the opportunity to work with a composer and premiere a new work.Eva Victoria Schockmel (Luxembourg, 2001) earned her Bachelor’s Degree with highest distinction from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Gabriel Bianco. She performs with ensembles like Duo Encordé and Pulsar Quartet, and has appeared as soloist i.a. with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.Recent competition awards in 2025 comprise the 2nd Prize at the Uppsala International Young Talents Competition, 3rd Prize at the 14th Martinez Guitar Duo Competition in Iserlohn and 3rd Prize as well as Audience Prize at the Mantovani International Guitar Festival.Passionate about guitar, percussion and arranging, Eva Victoria is currently pursuing her Master studies as a as a Neville Wathen Scholar at the Royal College of Music in London, under the guidance of Gary Ryan and Christopher Stell.Eva Victoria’s programme features a performance of 2025 IGF commission, The Millipede is Walking, by Cheryl Frances-Hoad.
