Osterley Park is a Robert Adam masterpiece — a stunning neoclassical house on the edge of West London, set in over 350 acres of parkland, lakes, and garden. Built for a wealthy Tudor merchant and later transformed by the architect Robert Adam in the 18th century for the Child banking family, the house contains some of Adam's finest interiors, including the Tapestry Room itself (which doubles as the trail's starting inspiration). It's one of the great country houses of London and genuinely deserves to be better known.

The park feels genuinely rural — lake walks, ancient trees, walled kitchen garden — while being served by the Piccadilly Line and located just minutes from the M4.
