Happy New Year, writers! 🌊🪶
Join us for our first Writers of the Whale Coast – Hermanus gathering of 2026.
This month, one of our lovely members has graciously offered to host us at her home so we can enjoy a quieter space with less outside noise which will be perfect for sharing and connecting.
There will be some nibbles, teas, and coffees available.
If you prefer sodas or specific snacks, please feel free to bring your own.
Optional 500-Word Challenge
January’s theme is:
🌊“When the tide pulled back, something unexpected was left.”🌊
As always, the challenge is completely optional.
Write around 500 words in any genre! Poetry, fantasy, memoir, sci-fi, romance, historical… whatever inspires you!
You’re welcome to:
• Volunteer to read your piece aloud, OR
• Allow me to post a photo of your story on our group/page afterward for positive, supportive feedback. (This can be done anonymously)
Remember: Only encouragement. No negativity.
We celebrate creativity and uplift each other.
Address:
35 Vermont Avenue, Vermont, 7201
