💖 58km for Yvette: Running for Breast Cancer Awareness
🗓 Date: Saturday, 22nd November
📍 Starting Point: Aveley Parkrun (5km), then continuing to complete 58km total
🎀 Dress Code: Wear pink – stand out, spark conversations
🏃♀️ I'm not an ultra runner.
But grief drove me here.
Last year, I lost someone I loved deeply, a treasured friend, Yvette. She was kind, loving, and just drew people in, to know her was to love her. She had a strength and bravery that was just unfathomable.
For a while, she carried a secret: a lump she never spoke about, never got checked. She was a l busy mum, so focused on her kids. By the time she was diagnosed, the cancer had already taken hold.
She once said she wished she could do something to raise awareness about the importance of early detection , So I’m doing this in her honour.
💡 This 58km run isn't about records or finish lines.
It’s about starting conversations.
It's about asking:
Have you checked your breasts lately?
Noticed anything unusual?
When was your last check-in with yourself… or your girlfriends?
Encouraging regular check ins with your mates. “Let’s make the last Sunday of every month a ‘boob check’ day.”
Call a friend. Do a self-check. Remind someone to get screened. Talk about it.
🌟 I’d love your support.
Join me for part of the run , even just 1km.
Wear pink to get noticed and help start conversations.
Share a story or a photo of someone you love who's been touched by breast cancer , we’re running with their names and faces close to our hearts.
Share this event , if one person gets checked earlier because of it, then we’ve already changed their world.
I’m running 58km for Yvette, but this run is for all of us.
Let’s walk, run, cry, laugh , and most importantly ,talk. 💬💗
