Rock’n’Roll trio The Wieners brengt een speciaal eerbetoon aan hun grote held Buddy Holly. Ze waren met hun vertolking van That’ll Be The Day te zien bij De Wereld Draait Door en ze toerden langs meer dan 50 theaters met een tribute-programma.

The Wieners brachten ook een live-cd ‘Just Like Buddy Holly’ uit én ze begeleidden de originele leadgitarist van Buddy, Tommy Allsup.
Allsup miste door een weddenschap het vliegtuigje dat op 3 februari 1959 neerstortte, met aan boord Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens en Big Bopper. Die dag staat bekend als The Day The Music Died.
Buddy Holly werd slechts 22 jaar maar hij liet een schat aan prachtige liedjes na. Heartbeat, That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Peggy Sue, Everyday, It’s So Easy, Not Fade Away en nog een heleboel meer. Wat niet iedereen weet, is dat hij aan het begin van zijn carrière country en behoorlijk ruige rockabilly speelde. Het komt allemaal voorbij!
