Join us for a conversation on the potential benefits of living a place-based life. Consider where you currently live and ask yourself this: I live here, but how much do I really know, love, and inhabit this place as home? We’ll consider how our physical, mental and spiritual health can be improved if we understand how the natural systems in our home places work. We will explore how the creation and protection of healthy ecosystems takes into account the welfare of all humans and the more than human dwelling in our region and connects us to something greater than ourselves.
About Jessie Wilder:
A native of North Carolina, Jessie Wilder worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years. She then founded the Blue Ridge Naturalist program at UNC-Asheville, taught in a local herbal medicine school and was involved with natural history interpretation at the NC Arboretum. She enjoys cooking wild foods, hearing and telling a tall tale, and helping others connect with the peace and adventure that wild places have to offer.
Info: Join Aimee for a time to ground ourselves by engaging our senses and tuning into our relationship with Nature. Dress comfortably for the weather and be sure to wear comfortable shoes. We will end our time with a cup of tea and sharing.
