- **Event Description**: We’d like to celebrate our 5th graders and the accomplishment of completing elementary school as they prepare to enter the Student Ministry. For students and parents, the changes this transition brings can be both exciting and uncertain. We want to help students and parents feel confident as they move from Kids to Students.

During the summer, our graduating 5th graders become rising 6th graders and have the opportunity to become familiar with the Student Ministry and participate in activities just for them.

Wednesday, May 14: 5th Grade Preview Night
All Long Hollow 5th graders and parents are invited to attend the Middle School Wednesday night service at Hendersonville from 6:30 - 7:30PM in the Student Building. Rising 6th graders will continue to meet in the Student Building on Wednesday nights throughout the summer.

Wednesday, May 21: 5th Grade Celebration
Students will attend the middle school worship service in the Hendersonville Student Building from 6:30 - 7:30PM, then have our traditional shaving cream fight to officially welcome them to the Student Ministry as rising 6th graders. Please wear dark clothing that can get wet and dirty, and be prepared to go home wet! We will conclude at approximately 8PM.

Parents will meet in the Hendersonville Chapel from 6:30 - 7:15PM to hear from our Family Ministry staff and volunteers about the transition from Kids to Students. We’ll also discuss upcoming summer activities and answer any questions. After our meeting, we’ll have plenty of time to head out to the field to watch our 5th graders be welcomed to the Student Ministry as rising 6th graders with our traditional shaving cream fight. We’ll conclude at approximately 8PM.

There’s no cost, but please register to let us know you’re coming!

How can I learn more about the Student Ministry and what to expect for my rising 6th grader?
Our 5th Grade Celebration for parents and 5th graders is on Wednesday, May 21 at Hendersonville. Students will join the Middle School service while parents meet in the Chapel. Following the service and meeting, students will participate in our traditional 6th grade shaving cream fight to officially welcome them to the Student Ministry as rising 6th graders. What opportunities will my rising 6th grader have this summer as they transition to middle school?
Rising 6th graders are invited to attend Middle School Camp, June 14 - 18, at Ocoee Ridge Camp. Additionally, rising 6th graders will have Summer Hangs in June and join the middle school in July to allow students to build relationships and have a space to connect and grow.

Sunday Mornings:

What will Sunday mornings look like for my rising 6th grader in the summer?

- Gallatin Life Groups are at 9:45AM in the Student Building. At Hendersonville, rising 6th graders will check in and meet in the Student Building Garage, Sunday May 25 - July 27. Hendersonville Life Groups will be offered at 8, 9:30, and 11:15AM. Beginning August 6, 6th graders will attend Middle School Life Groups at 9:30 and 11:15AM.

Wednesday Nights:

When will my 5th grader transition to Wednesday Night Student services?

- 5th graders will transition to Student services on Wednesday, May 14. 

- This is the Preview Night that parents are also invited to attend. There will be no 5th grade service at Hendersonville on May 14.


What will Wednesday nights look like for my rising 6th grader in the summer?

- Rising 6th graders will continue to meet on Wednesday nights over the summer. At Gallatin, 6th graders are invited to join the student services. At Hendersonville, rising 6th graders will join middle schoolers for worship, then transition to the Student Building Garage for teaching. Check in will be in the Garage area of the Student Building until August 6, when 6th graders will begin to check in at the Middle School room prior to service.

What is the format for Wednesday night?

- The typical flow of a Wednesday night includes: Worship, Bible teaching, and time for students to form and cultivate relationships with their peers and adult volunteers. Guys and girls are usually split in the worship room. Service starts at 6:30 and usually ends around 7:30PM. Students must be picked up no later than 8:15PM at Gallatin and 8:30PM at Hendersonville.


Is food available?

- At Hendersonville, students may buy food from any of our food truck vendors available in Legacy Park beginning at 5PM on Wednesdays.


Should my child bring anything for service?

- We recommend all students bring their Bible and something to take notes with.


Are phones allowed?

- While we do allow students to have their phone with them, we ask students not to use their phone during worship services.


Where is a good place to pick up my student?

- We recommend that parents find a location on campus to meet their student after service ends.
