The countdown is officially on to the Pirate themed Lizard Sea Shanty Festival 2026 – and this year is set to be our biggest and best yet!

With our new festival site at The Lizard Football and Social Club, we’re creating our biggest festival yet. Visitors can look forward to live music throughout the weekend, dedicated family entertainment, children’s activities, face painting, pirate characters, games, raffle, sponsor tents, charity stalls, craft and trade stands, delicious food, outside caterers, licensed bar, and plenty of space to explore, relax and soak up the unique festival atmosphere.

Whether you’re a sea shanty enthusiast, a pirate at heart, a family looking for a fantastic day out, or simply looking to enjoy one of Cornwall’s most unique festivals, there really will be something for everyone throughout the weekend.

Our main stage will showcase an outstanding line-up, while four new venues across The Lizard village will come alive on Saturday afternoon from 3.00pm, filling the village with music and creating a fantastic festival atmosphere wherever you go.

Families are at the heart of this year’s festival. Alongside a packed programme of children’s entertainment, don’t miss the Kids’ Pirate Parade at 2.00pm on Saturday, led by Pilchard the Pirate, Fred Thomas aka 'Betty' and Stormy Sam, with Shanty Sam Wheatley on his battle drum adding plenty of excitement and pirate spirit along the way!

This is so much more than a sea shanty festival. It’s a weekend where the whole community comes together to celebrate Cornwall’s rich maritime heritage through traditional folk music and sea shanties. Expect incredible live music, colourful pirates, great food, family fun and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

🏕️ Official Festival Parking & Camping

Official festival parking and camping will be available at Tregullas Farm and Kynance Camping, both offering overnight camping and convenient daytime festival parking throughout the weekend. Please note that parking and camping are provided by the site operators and are subject to their normal charges. Full details, prices and booking information will be announced soon.

Best of all, festival entry is completely FREE. The festival is organised entirely by volunteers, and every donation helps us support four fantastic causes:

• The Fishermen's Mission
• The Lizard RNLI Lifeboat Station
• The Lizard Community group.
• Lizard Recreation Playground
