During the workshop, we discover how listening and receptivity allow us to resonate with different aspects and phenomena of being and express them through movement. We will investigate how meaningful connections and movement compositions can emerge from embodied sensibility. Receptive Dance is a new movement method that explores how to let the wisdom of the body join our dance. It nurtures our position as mediators between different worlds and layers of experience. It can be described as a post-butoh practice—deeply inspired by butoh while remixing it with other domains and approaches. It offers an open approach to practising butoh, supporting creativity, embodied awareness, and participatory ways of knowing. The workshop includes ritual elements of butoh dance and clear meditative guidance. No previous background in butoh or dance is needed. His background includes butoh, various wisdom traditions, and improvisational theatre. Since 2012, he has been on a mission to build bridges between butoh and other domains, cultivating the possibility of emerging artful alchemy. Along this path, he has studied and practised butoh and related approaches with more than 20 teachers. He has presented and organised performances, workshops, and long-term courses in dozens of locations worldwide. Hänen taustansa pohjautuu butoon, erilaisiin viisausperinteisiin ja somaattisiin menetelmiin, sekä improvisaatioteatteriin. Vuodesta 2012 lähtien hänen missionaan on ollut rakentaa siltoja buton ja muiden alojen välille, sekä vaalia taiteellisen alkemian mahdollisuutta.
