The lesson is suitable for complete beginners for the ukulele, as well as providing instruction for rhythm guitar for people who are just starting out. We aim to work at a slow pace, working on four to six songs during the session.We do have a limited number of ukuleles and guitars that can be borrowed for the session on a first come first served basis. It is best to bring your own instrument. If you don't have a guitar or ukulele, and aren't ready to purchase one, it is often possible to loan one from the library.The lesson consists of the following:Introduction to the instrument, and basic strumming techniquePlaying simple chords ( C, G, Am, F, D)Playing simple songs togetherEven if you have been playing for a while, the basic exercises we do in the session are always useful to practice, so you are welcome to come and join us as well. To challenge non-beginners, we can look at alternative chord shapes so you can add different voicings and texture to your playing.
