- **Event Description**: Have you heard of the Internet of Things (IoT)? Are you curious about how modern technology works? Would you like to learn how to program a LED to blink or respond to sensors?

Join the Workshop Series in Pasila library and learn from scratch!

This beginner-friendly workshop series introduces the basics of microcontrollers and IoT. You will learn how to create simple circuits and program them to control lights and sensors. By the end of the workshop series, you can build your own simple smart device. 

No previous experience required - just curiosity and a willingness to learn! Participants will work in pairs, so no one will be left alone.

Please bring your own laptop if possible.

Recommended age: 12+

The main workshop language is English. Participants may also communicate with facilitators in Finnish, Russian, or Vietnamese.

You can take part in one, two or all the workshops. But we recommend participating in all, since they build on each other.

About the instructor

The workshops are led by Danny Khong who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Metropolia University. He is passionate about making technology accessible and enjoys guiding beginners in a friendly way to explore basic electronics, programming, and modern innovations.

Oletko kuullut esineiden internetistä (Internet of Things/ IoT)? Oletko utelias siitä, miten moderni teknologia toimii? Haluaisitko oppia ohjelmoimaan LEDin vilkkumaan tai reagoimaan sensoreihin?
Osallistu työpajasarjaan Pasilan kirjastossa ja opi uutta!

Tämä aloittelijaystävällinen työpaja tutustuttaa mikrokontrollereiden ja IoT:n perusteisiin. Opit, miten luodaan yksinkertaisia virtapiirejä ja ohjelmoidaan niitä ohjaamaan valoja ja sensoreita. Työpajasarjan lopussa voit rakentaa oman yksinkertaisen älylaitteesi.
 

Aiempi kokemus ei ole tarpeen – pelkkä uteliaisuus ja halu oppia riittää! Osallistujat työskentelevät pareittain, joten kukaan ei jää yksin. 

Ota oma kannettava mukaan, jos mahdollista.

Suositusikä: 12+

Työpajan pääkieli on englanti. Osallistujat voivat myös kommunikoida ohjaajien kanssa suomeksi, venäjäksi tai vietnamiksi.

Torstai 7.5. klo 17–19 Rakenna miniälyjärjestelmä
 

Voit osallistua yhteen, kahteen tai kaikkiin työpajoihin. Suosittelemme kuitenkin osallistumaan koko sarjaan, sillä työpajat rakentuvat toistensa päälle.

Työpajoja vetää Danny Khong, joka on suorittanut elektroniikkainsinöörin kandidaatin tutkinnon Metropolia-ammattikorkeakoulussa.
