What happens when life as you know it ends? Sudanese photographer Hassan Kamil traces the development of his personal voice through years of documentary work in Sudan, from intimate family projects in Berber and Khartoum to three years of documenting his own displacement during the war.

About Hassan Kamil:

Hassan Kamil is a Sudanese photographer and filmmaker whose work explores memory, displacement, and belonging. Winner of the East African Photography Award 2024 for best story. He studied Photojournalism at DMJX in 2024 and completed the Arab Documentary Photography Program (ADPP) Cycle 11. His work has been exhibited internationally and published in numerous publications.
