Overview
Ben Lomond is a fabulous Munro with spectacular views over Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, and beyond on a good day. There is a clear path to the summit, but we may take a different route to descend via the Ptarmigan Ridge on the more rugged side of the mountain. 

Some people climb Ben Lomond as their first Munro but walkers should have a reasonable level of fitness. The walk will be challenging with sections of the terrain which are steep, rocky, muddy and slippery.

As with all mountain walks, full hillwalking gear is required. Sturdy hiking boots, walking poles and weatherproof clothing are recommended.
