Don't miss out on this valuable opportunity to become a safe sitter!Please note that this is a drop-off program: parents, guardians, siblings, and other interested parties are expected to stay outside the venue for the duration of the program. If you need to contact your child during the program, you can reach Marisa Johnson, directly at 406-465-5264. If your child needs to contact you, we will give them access to this phone. If you are the tween attending this program, please make sure a parent/guardian has this phone number before coming to the program. We require a plan for attendees to get safely home, which includes handing them directly off to a responsible adult afterward.Safe sitter is a class that receives a certificate of knowledge learned. This is not an automatic endorsement for sitter abilities. Parent discretion is advised when leaving children in the care of any sitter regardless of Safe Sitter Certification or not.Safety SkillsStudents learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.Child Care SkillsStudents learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.First Aid & Rescue SkillsLearning skills such as choking rescue and CPR is often students’ favorite part of the class. Students also learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. (CPR included in Safe Sitter® Essentials with CPR and Safe Sitter® Expanded.)Life & Business SkillsThe ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future.
