About the event

🤠Cow Horse Confidence 🐮 Ft: Alexis Alm
🐎 Special Guest Clinic | Cow Horse Foundations

Introducing Horses to the Cow the Right Way

We’re excited to welcome Alexis Alm of Alm Ranch for a special clinic focused on introducing horses to cattle and building a correct cow horse foundation.

This clinic is designed to take the mystery and pressure out of the cow horse world and replace it with clarity, confidence, and correct progression — for both horse and rider.

Whether your goal is ranch work, cow horse, sorting, cutting, or simply creating a more confident, aware horse, this clinic will give you the tools to start right.

✨ What This Clinic Focuses On

Introducing the Cow & Cow Work Fundamentals
Alexis will walk riders through:
• How to properly introduce a horse to cattle
• Reading your horse’s mind, confidence, and readiness
• Understanding pressure and release around cattle
• Creating curiosity and confidence instead of anxiety

This is about building understanding, not chasing a cow for the sake of excitement.

Using the Flag to Build Skills
Before working live cattle (if appropriate), we will:
• Use the cutting flag to introduce cow work concepts
• Teach positioning, timing, and feel
• Help horses learn how to move their feet and stay mentally engaged
• Build rider confidence and awareness

The flag allows horses and riders to learn the job without overwhelming pressure.

Working Cattle (If Horse & Rider Are Ready)
For horses that are mentally and physically prepared, the clinic may progress to:
• Controlled cow work
• Learning correct position and balance
• Developing confidence and responsiveness
• Teaching the foundation pieces of a cow horse

Progression will be based on readiness, not expectation — every horse is different, and that is respected.

🐴 Who This Clinic Is For
• Horses new to cattle
• Riders curious about the cow horse or ranch world
• Horses being prepared for ranch work, sorting, or cow horse events
• Anyone wanting to build confidence and correctness around cows

You do not need an experienced cow horse to attend. This clinic is about starting the process correctly, wherever you’re at.

🧠 Our Philosophy

Cow work should build:
• Confidence, not fear
• Understanding, not chaos
• Willingness, not tension

This clinic is about laying a foundation that keeps horses quiet, confident, and useful long-term.
